MAD DAN PRODUCTIONS is a Melbourne/ Brisbane based, fun loving production company founded by Madeleine Dyer and Daniel Mulvihill. Mad…Dan…See what they did there?
Mad and Dan have spent their whole lives in the arts. Growing up with musical and theatrical backgrounds, they met while studying the Theatre/Film Acting Degree at University of Southern Queensland (USQ).
Their acting flames still burn but Mad and Dan have been honing their craft in the art of film and television writing, directing and producing over the last five years. During their three years in Sydney, they underwent extensive training, specialising in comedy writing and producing.
Mad and Dan have found their own distinct ‘out of the box’ style through years of creating their own work. Mad Dan Productions is the next step in making their edgy, unique and often comedic brand of production a service to you! So, think out of the box with Mad Dan Productions!
Daniel Mulvihill – Co-director
Dan has the gift of the gab. He’s the guy on the phone 24/7 getting everyone excited and locking things in! He’s the director that gets right up amongst it and loves working closely with his actors. His intensity is intoxicating and some may (affectionately, of course) find the company name ‘Mad Dan’ quite fitting, in more ways than one!
Dan grew up as a singer/songwriter in Brisbane and was part of many bands in his early adult years – what a rock star! After moving to Sydney at the completion of his Arts degree, Dan worked for Queensland Theatre Company in various shows including a national tour of Michael Gow’s ‘Toy Symphony’.
Dan has also worked in many independent theatre productions in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Dan’s latest TV credits include a recurring guest role on Home and Away and guest appearances on Devil’s Dust (ABC) and Better Man (SBS). Dan’s latest TV ad campaigns include Suncorp, Stihl and Dairy Farmers.
Dan has partially completed a Graduate Diploma in Education.
Madeleine Dyer – Co-director.
Mad does a lot of the work behind the scenes and is the master organiser/scheduler! She enjoys working closely as a director with cinematographers to ensure the vision of each project is realised and exercises a gentle consideration in her directing style with actors. Mads is skilled in story boarding and editing.
Mad grew up in North Queensland with a strong background in musical theatre, training in classical and jazz singing, piano and dance. She was a lead singer of a punk band in her early adult years – yeah, she’s pretty cool. Madeleine has completed her Trinity College Associate Diploma in Speech and Drama teaching, her Theatre/Film Acting degree at University Southern Queensland and has attended the International Film School Sydney, where she studied all areas of production.
Madeleine’s appeared in many short and feature length films, TVCs and independent theatre, with her latest credits being a guest role on series 2 of ABC’s ‘It’s a Date’ and commercials for Vic health, Mars Pods, British Paints and Jeep.
